CYCLING SUB-GROUP MEETINGS

Local cyclists – or others - with an interest in the White Cart Cycle Route  - are welcome to join the steering group which has overseen the design of the cycle route so far.
If you wish to participate in deciding which options are best for completing the route, become involved in promotional events, or see new facilities developed, please come along to our meetings. The group welcomes attendance by local citizens, community group representatives, elected members and officers of
Glasgow City Council.
Please contact info@cartblanche.org
To date the group has led the development of works at the Pollokshaws Road Crossing, Shawbridge, Riverbank Street/Riverford Road junction, Riverford Road to Kilmarnock Road, the Kilmarnock Road crossing and the Langside Road and Millbrae junction, with these works being funded by
Glasgow City Council.
Upgrading of the path to the south of Millbrae Crescent, the path parallel to Cartside Street and installation of the route along Spean Street will be undertaken within the flood prevention scheme works and will see a predominantly off-road route developed through the area within the next few years.
The group's main attention has recently focused on provision of an off-road cycle track along Old Castle Road, between Holmlea Road and Delvin Road/ Manse Brae. Proposals for the Delvin Bridge crossing are advancing, with options for linking to the Linn Park still to be investigated.
